summer skin

Here’s my 3 quick tips for glowing summer skin…

SPF SPF SPF

Is there any point preaching to the choir? If you’re reading this post you are already interested in skin health and preserving it and know that SPF is the number one dot point on any summer skin list.

In Australia, we have so much ambient sun light, that protecting your skin is an all year round job, however, there is higher incidence of UVB radiation present during summer, whereas UVA is present as a constant all year round. For this reason, suncream application is even more important in he summer months Choose a suncream that feels light, is water resistant and states broad UVA/UVB protection

Hydrate your skin inside and out

Apply Hyaluronic acid under your regular night cream to help provide and retain hydration, making your skin feel plump and moisturised. Hyaluronic acid works by attracting and binding water

Make sure you drink plenty of water particularly as the days get warmer or if you prefer something bubbly replace soft drink with sparkling water and cold brew tea

Exfoliate gently 2 -3 times per week

Chemical exfoliation helps facilitate skin turn over to remove dry, dull skin cells, promotes production of new skin and will help other active ingredients to penetrate the skin a bit better. Chemical exfoliation, is less traumatising the physical exfoliation as it does little to disrupt the skin barrier or upset the skin microbiome.
